9th Anniversary!

9th anniversary

On June 16th we celebrated our 9th anniversary! I can't believe its already been 9 years since we were sealed for time and all eternity in the Fresno, California Temple. Tim is my soul mate, my best friend and provider of our family and I couldn't be any more in love.

sunset

Tim and I celebrated this past weekend by going to Cannon Beach. We were in a really nice Ocean Front room with a balcony and fireplace. It was really romantic and our view was amazing of Rooster Rock. We got to our room in time for the sunset and a romantic stroll on the beach. Can it get any better then that?! Well, it can! The next day we went for Japanese foot massages followed by a couple massage! I had the classic massage and Tim got the deep tissue massage for all those aching muscles of his. It was so relaxing! We're so appreciative to Lurlyn & Leif for watching Aubriana so we can have some time alone. Thank you!

...Aubriana's Fun Facts...

Aubriana just turned 18 months a couple of weeks ago and it seems like a milestone (mostly because she is now in nursery). It still seems hard to believe how fast time has gone since she was born. When I look at her now, she looks like a toddler and no longer a baby. She has quite the personality and I thought it would be fun, for those that don't see her much, to know 18 fun facts about Aubriana!

... love me some good pbj!

1. Aubriana sleeps in EVERY morning until about 8 or 8:30 and I can't complain! :)

2. First thing she says when I get her out of bed, without fail, "where'd Daddy go?"

3. She loves shoes! She'll walk around in the morning taking one pair off and putting another pair on while driving me crazy every 5 seconds to help her. She's only 18 months old and has owned 22 pairs so far (my bad).

4. She has a set of lungs on her. She can really scream. If things aren't going quite the way she likes... she lets us know.

5. When she really wants something, she can put on the show. Working the tears is her forte and sometimes I give in, cause you can't blame a girl for trying.

... cryin shame

6. She has an interest in wiping bums when she sees toilet paper. Funny story: Tim and I were in the bathroom one Sunday morning, getting ready for church. Tim was bent over the sink shaving and Aubri was begging me for toilet paper. I handed her a couple of pieces, not really thinking about it, and I hear "hey, no one goes there!" out of Tim. I look over and Aubri is trying to wipe his bum. It was a priceless moment.

7. She likes to play peek-a-boo. She covers her face with her cute little hands and says, "where'd Aubri go?" When she uncovers her face, and you say, "there she is!" she laughs hysterically like its the best game ever!

8. She loves to be read to, especially when she is tired and cranky.

9. She loves to play outside. She begs and says, "go ow" and once she's out, its very difficult to get her back in (sometimes crying and tantrums are involved).

10. She loves dirt! *so mom, that thing about the sand box in the basement is really a good idea*

11. When she wants something, and we say, "what do you say?" and she responds with, "pease" in a really sweet voice, its hard to resist. :)

12. She still loves to be snuggled and comforted. My favorite part of the day.

13. She has recently taken up swimming, when the water is not too cold, and loves it!

... lovin the water!

14. She loves her cousin Leify. When he's not around she asks, "where's wafey?" They play really well together. Aubri likes to copy him and boss him around. There are, on occasions, when he's got a toy of hers and she screams in protest... but besides that, its been so nice for her to have a buddy.

... fun in the sun!

15. She's already had a mullet. I cutt it off last week, and now its almost to short to put in piggy's... :( But she looks adorable no matter what and I absolutely love the color of her hair! It reminds me of my dad.

16. When she's hungry, she tells me, "hungi" and when she thirsty she tells me, "a dink, a dink"

17. Aubri LOVES when Tim gets home from work. She stomps her feet and screams with excitement. It's one of my favorite parts of the day. She loves her Daddy!

... I'm so glad when daddy comes home!

Last but not least...

18. She loves to give a round of smooches when its night night time.

It is so fun to watch her grow and learn and do new things. She has truly been an easy baby and turning into a fun toddler. We love you Aubriana!

The BEACH!

The beginning of this week we had really nice weather and happened to notice it was nice at the coast as well... so Monday morning we took off for Cannon Beach, OR. We thought it would be fun to take Aubriana to the beach for the first time in her life. It's also great that its only 2 hours away.

Cannon Beach is really beautiful with not alot of people, which is great. The weather was really really nice but the wind on the beaches here in the northwest make it feel a little colder. There were even times when the clouds would blow in on the beach which was cool looking. At first all Aubri was concerned about was her hoodie blowing off her head. She got past that when Tim would take her running out to the waves. She loved it! She even braved the cold water on her feet.

We took a break from the ocean for a little while and took Aubri to a cafe place for lunch where she was served miniature corn dogs (kids get good stuff now these days). We also checked out a few fun shops and got Aubri a souvenir hoodie :) and went back to the beach (hard to stay away). We also drove up to Ft. Stevens where you can drive your vehicle on the beach. There, we watched quite a few wind surfers and chased birds. It was such a great day with just us having fun. I'm so thankful for my little family.

... I love the Ocean! ...
My favorite picture of the day! I was pretty excited to see the ocean. ;) Yes, those are clouds behind me.

... what should I do now? ...
I love this picture of Aubri. She's not quite sure what to do. :)

Easter Festivities...

Actual Easter day was a bit gloomy/rainy/cold here in beautiful Washington. However, we were fortunate enough to celebrate it with family the weekend before when it was sunny and warm out. Lucky us!

The Easter Bunny was good to Aubri this year. It was her first official year being able to hunt for eggs... and boy did she ever hunt for them. Thats about all she cared about. Filling up her basket. She was soooooo cute in her Easter dress I bought her and so funny being really serious about finding eggs. I thought she wouldn't care too much or that I'd have to hold her basket for her but no. It is so fun to watch her change and grow. I'll have to do a post soon about all the new things she is saying and doing. It amazes Tim and I both.

Here are some of the cute pics I have of the day...

...finding eggs...

...easter bunny is good to me...

... where'd the candy go?...
This one cracks me up, cause Aubri was having a hard time getting the eggs open to get the candy inside. Well, apparently she got it open but she's not the one with the candy and she is trying to ask us where the candy went. Hmm... ? haha!

... the irish jig...
It is very hard to capture a good picture of two 1 1/2 yr olds together in their cute outfits... but I did. I love this one. Leify (her cousin) is famous around here for his funny dancing and Aubri loves to get jiggy with him as well.

Try To Keep Up...

We moved. We took our LONG trek to Washington from Denver, and let me just say... it wasn't easy. I won't bore anyone with too many details but it was quite the adventure... here... let me show you a picture first...

Is it a train??? No! It's Semi's lined up on I-80 in Wyoming. The road conditions were not great to say the least. We thankfully have our house on wheels and were able to stay at a truck stop for about 3-4 hours playing a few games of Sequence while Aubriana napped. It finally cleared up and we hit snow in Idaho (of course). Blowing snow and icy roads are not good, so we stopped again at a rest stop and stayed the night.

We travel with Internet so we were able to keep checking road conditions and felt it was safe to continue. Keep in mind... I'm driving our Jeep Wrangler that has HUGE tires on it and a clutch that isn't working properly while Tim is driving our truck pulling the 5th Wheel. We were both stressed ;). The next day of driving wasn't too bad... but we weren't able to make it to Dead Man's pass before dark so we pulled over and slept again.

We head out in the morning and start driving through a smaller pass that leads up to dead mans pass and Tim calls to tell me he has no breaks on the 5th wheel. We pull over and all the wire looked like it had been pulled out! It was crazy. It also took Tim 2 hours to fix because the wind was blowing so hard he had to keep taking breaks to get his hands to warm up. We get going again and there are flashing signs everywhere to chain up if you're pulling over 10,000 lbs. Well, we didn't have chains, so Tim drove super slow and I kept going because I didn't want the clutch to go out on me. By the time we got to Dead Man's pass, the roads were great and the sun was shining. It was such a relief to finally be done with mountain passes. We pulled over to get a snack and started to get back on the road (I'm following Tim) and I hit a patch of slush, which causes me to loose control of my steering and I ended up driving off the road hitting a reflector thingy. A snow plow guy stopped and helped me... gave me some driving advice (LOL) to get back on the road. Thankfully, the Jeep is indestructible. We left Denver on a Saturday and arrived safely in Washington on a Tuesday night. Our nerves were a little shot but we felt so blessed that our prayers were answered and that we were able to arrive safely, especially with the bad weather we faced.

It's been a while since I've posted and can't stand to do so without sharing some photo's of Aubriana. She is adjusting from being in our 5th wheel that was really nice but not too roomy to being in a place with lots of space and lots of fun things to get into. She has such personality! It's so fun to watch her grow. Here are her latest and greatest!

Grandma had to buy Aubriana her first pair of rain boots. She loves them... well she loves shoes period. They are a little big but it doesn't stop her from stomping around in them.

Aubriana loves to "try" to dress herself or figure out a way to get out of her clothes. She came up to me the other day with her arm completely out of her shirt. The second picture is of her enjoying some scrambled eggs with a fork. Yes... she is all about the utensils now. She really likes to be independent.

Those are her piggy's. Isn't she cute!?!

It's very hard to say no to this face! I love it!!!

My last bit of news... Saved the best for last. Tim flew back to Denver yesterday to take his Journeyman Lineman's test today and PASSED! It's a gruesome test that last pretty much all day. My hubby is capital A-MAZING!!!

Now for Lynlee's wedding :)... excited for that!

A Girl Thing

babies

Its been so fun watching Aubriana discover things that she loves, such as... being a mommy. I took Aubri to a playgroup in the beginning of December and she found a baby doll to play with. She was kissing on the doll and taking it over to one of the infant car seats and laying the doll in there and patting its back... it was the cutest thing I had ever seen! I hadn't even thought of her liking dolls yet and was concentrating more on getting the learning toys. So, of course, for Christmas we had to get her a doll. She did not want the doll to leave her sight until we went to Tim's family for New Years and was given TWIN baby dolls, that talk to eachother, from her Grandma. She is in baby doll heaven. She has enough dolls to tie her over for a few years... however, we were missing a stroller. I figured since she likes to push the shopping cart in the store, she would much enjoy pushing her baby in a stroller. Since we have had beautiful, spring like weather, the stroller has been put to good use!
